Alpha-H Exclusives and QVC Bank Holiday Monday

This Bank Holiday Monday QVC are holding a one-off day called 'Got to have It'. It's essentially a day full of TSV's - that's not what they're called - but it's what they are...*jazz hands*

Alpha-H are including one of their newest launches tomorrow as part of a kit called 'Instant Results'.

It contains 3 full size products and included in the kit are:

Micro Cleanse

Absolute Eye Complex

and the new Instant Facial

Instant Facial is 93% organic botanicals and is essentially your daily exfoliator and hydrator - in a spray function. For those of us in a hurry, or god forbid too lazy for those of you that are nervous about going the whole hog and stepping into daily exfoliation this could be the thing for you.
It's kind of like a daily Liquid Gold - albeit in a very mild way - but it doesn't replace it.

Instant Facial will both exfoliate and hydrate and allow the products that follow it to penetrate properly instead of being applied to dead skin.

The kit launches at 10am on Monday morning and is shown again at 2pm.
These 2 full sizes are worth over £94 on the high street - it is being listed at £32.88, a saving of over £60.00.

On Tuesday at 9pm on QVC, Alpha-H launch their brand new Liquid Laser.

Liquid Laser helps stimulate cellular repair and provides instant hydration. Used on alternate evenings, it acts as a moisture builder and helps turn the tired, devitalised and slightly saggy epidermis into a plump and dewy one. Yes please.

Liquid Laser is £30.00.

More info can be found on QVC.CO.UK/ALPHA-H

Alpha-H shows are:
Monday 10am and 2pm - Instant Results Kit launch
Tuesday 9pm - Liquid Laser launch
Wednesday 6pm

YouTube update

That's attractive

Thank you for all of the lovely comments about the videos filmed with Ruth last month. It's always a weird, slightly (very) unnerving thing putting yourself 'out there' and I really appreciate your support.

It has, however, led to me being stopped by friends and family and PeopleI'veNeverMetInMyEntireLife asking when I'm going to be filming the cleansing routines/massage videos/more skincare vids etc - and the answer has always been June - it's just that the opportunity came up to film with Ruth earlier than I was planning to launch and I thought it would be a great way of getting started. Having Ruth to hold my hand is brilliant - we're filming again this week.

So it's really just that - to say they are coming - soon - but at the moment I'm still busy with skin consults and obviously my actual job - I'm not a pro blogger (save the jokes about that being blatantly obvious thankyouverymuch) and so priorities are as they are.
I'm not going to quickly throw together something as key as a visual version of a cheat sheet without a lot of thought.

Anyway - it'll be there soon. And thanks again - for the support and reading my rambling.

The Detox Kitchen Deli and Delivery!

The Detox Kitchen is the kind of establishment that makes the type of food that you think you can make in your head, but in reality fail miserably. In my case anyway...

Lily Simpson - a 29 year old chef - wanted to challenge the preconceptions of what a ‘diet’ is: “I’m amazed (and a little frustrated) at how often I've  heard the words ‘you can’t’ in connection with a diet. You can’t eat this. You can’t have that. I can’t live in a perpetual state of deprivation. I’m a chef. I wouldn't eat something if it wasn't tasty – so I want to prove that a ‘diet’ doesn't have to be faddy, unsatisfying and difficult to stick to. That’s why I created Detox Kitchen.”

All of the food made at the Detox Kitchen is free from wheat, dairy and sugar - and it tastes amazing. I tried the one day fresh delivery system - probably best suited to someone kick-starting a healthy phase, or to give you a trial of what is on offer longer-term. The food was fresh, really tasty and the portions didn't leave you starved.

I'm not always a fan of the word 'Detox' because the body is more than capable of taking care of itself and detoxing itself 24/7 - but in this case I think it literally gives the message that everything is good for you and 'takes the strain off'.

Moving on from their delivery service and the first deli in Harvey Nichols - they've just opened in Soho in Central London - if you're passing you should definitely give it a try. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner - and it's hard to go wrong with the choices.

10th Anniversary of Neal's Yard Wild Rose Beauty Balm and a fab Giveaway!

Earlier this year I was invited to see the Head Office and manufacturing plant of Neal's Yard as part of the 10th Anniversary of their amazing Wild Rose Beauty Balm. I spent the day meeting the teams in various departments, nosying around the grounds and seeing for myself how one of my all-time favourite products is made.

Still filled by hand!

Starting to dry before being packed up.

Lids applied by hand...

After seeing it for myself I was offered the opportunity to make one of my own. Erm YES PLEASE.

I 'may' have got carried away with some of the essential oils - at least I have the only one on the world that smells that strong!

All mine. :)

Should we grow old gracefully? - Google Hangout with Sali Hughes

As some of you will know, next Tuesday evening I am on a panel hosted by Sali Hughes with India Knight, Brix Smith-Start and Pearl Lowe as part of the Selfridges Beauty Project discussing our attitudes to ageing.

The talk is sold out but before we take over The Salon, India, Brix and I are taking part in a Google Hangout, again chaired by Sali, answering your questions.
For those of you that missed out on tickets, this is a great way to join the conversation.

Appointments Update

Hi Everyone.

I just wanted to give a quick update as to appointment availability etc.

In short, our office building has been sold (how RUDE) so we are being booted out moving out at the end of May. I am going to concentrate on clients (brands), You Tube and this lovely little blog for the Summer and regroup come September.

I will still be doing store appearances etc - more info on that on this page - which I will keep updated.

In the meantime, I will still do my best to answer brief queries via twitter/comments on the blog and you tube - and if you do see me out and about, do grab me (not literally, that would be weird) and I'll help if I can.

More YouTube and my apologies

So Ruth and I have been at it again - our 'What's in my Handbag' videos went up over the Bank holiday and I'm so pleased you all seemed to like it. We had a lot of fun filming and will definitely be making it a regular thing.

My ridiculously organised bag:

Ruth's bag of shoes and candles (I think my face says it all):

She loves me really.

I'm making time tomorrow to try and respond to as many of the comments as I can - my apologies that I haven't done them thus far.

Thanks everyone!
