I'm collating a list of upcoming cheat sheets - acne being one, what to use and avoid when pregnant/breastfeeding another and also skincare for PCOS sufferers.
If you'd like to suggest more please do leave a comment below and I'll get to it!
Once again thank you for al your support. My average page views at the moment is 13 (per person - for @tsunimee)!!! Lucky for some! I love that you are sitting and reading my ranting. :)

One on normal/dry/red/sensitive skin please! Love these cheat sheets :) thanks Caroline!x
ReplyDeleteanti ageing cheat skin maybe? x
ReplyDeleteDone anti-ageing. Added it over there----->
Delete:)
*doh* goes to read now.
Deleteok. how about a cheat sheet on how to find a man? ^_^
it's deffo not in the sidebar x
I know that this may seem like a really basic question/cheat sheet, but maybe something along the lines of how to tell what one's skin type is? what the difference is between dry and dehydrated? how to know when a crop of spots/increased redness is a reaction to something a product rather than hormomal? I am probably thinking aloud here and this is often a sign that I am being a bit dim - not hard. Whatever cheat sheets you do I will be sure to read them avidly x
ReplyDeleteHi Jan,
DeleteAlready done dry v dehydrated - look over there ---->
Will try and do a skin type one but is such a broad scope of possibilities and I don't want people to misdiagnose themselves..
I'd really like a what is your skin type cheat sheet, as I have acne so use stuff for oily skin, but then it can also feel dry at times. I suppose I'm just combination?
DeleteI'm SO excited about the PCOS cheat sheet! For years I've been going to the doctors asking for help with my skin, and now it's got to the point where I can't take ANY hormone treatment (through both headaches/migraines and hair loss), and their only solution is antibiotics. I've literally had enough, and no one I ask knows anything to help me! Talk about stabbing in the dark with my skincare...
ReplyDeleteSo, thank you for being wonderful!
<3
Maybe a series or "recommended (or favourite) products..." would save you a LOT of "the-clinic" time ;)
ReplyDelete- Masks (hydrting... purifying......)
- Exfoliants (BHA's Aha's...)
- (...)
oh and... how about products and/ or ingredients to AVOID? :D I'd love that!
xx Raquel
@BeingRaquel
ooh the ingredients to avoid would be brilliant! Sometimes when you look at the ingredients list on the bottle its like its in another language!
DeleteGreat idea!! Just a few suggestions...
ReplyDelete1. Your top cleansers, toners, moisturisers, treatments etc.
2. Diet- what to avoid, can you have goat milk products if trying to avoid dairy? Really simple stuff like this!
3. What to be using at each age stage
4. Budget skin care that you like and passes the BM test
5. An ingredients whats what, we know to avoid mineral oil, lanolin etc but what else should we avoid or look for, maybe for specific skin types too!
X
Anti-ageing by age ranges including recommended products for a variety of budgets? A bit pedantic maybe but... it's all so confusing, and you're the bestest!
ReplyDeleteYes please. Anti ageing for different age ranges would be great. Stuff like products with acids and peptides etc.
DeleteThis!
DeleteThank you so much for doing these, I love them. I personally would really appreciate one on acne scars and how to get rid of them/how to prevent them.
ReplyDeletePerhaps you could do one on pigmentation? It seems to be a rather frequently mentioned issue in the 'Clinic' - general pigmentation, post-acne and age-related, would be an interesting read!
ReplyDeleteThese cheat sheets are very helpful,i love the cleansing one.I already asked if you could do a cheat sheet on exfoliation and maybe one on facial oils, serums, antioxidants etc, what to use, how, when, what age..
ReplyDeleteIf its not already added in acne cheat sheet maybe one on getting rid of old and new scars?
ReplyDeleteSupplements!! I can't be the only one who gets confused at the eight billion or so that Holland and Barrett have.
ReplyDeleteCaroline can you please do a sheet for young people. One, I'm sure you'll agree you're never to young for a good skin care regime and two I think acne is such a confidence killer for teens that don't need to suffer
ReplyDeleteThanks x x
The other day in a clinic response I saw you mention that the skin behind the ears was the real scaffolding for the face and it was an area that very few people pay attention to - this was the first I'd heard about it. I don't know if there are enough little things like that to fill a cheat sheet, but if there're any sort of little-known facts or common areas which people neglect (and shouldn't!) then I'd be very interested to see that. Thank you always, Caroline! My skin is looking better every week thanks to you.
ReplyDeleteHelp with Hormonal acne scars? x
ReplyDeleteI second this one.
Deletealso also perhaps a tailored supplement sheet - i.e. identifying the myriad of skin problems you come across and matching the specific best supplement to it?
Have just found your blog and love it - i'm 37 so it's a refreshing addition to all the very young girls blogs that I've followed

DeleteI just randomly stumbled on your blog and I have to say that you are one of my fav. bloggers evaaaa! I love your cheat sheets and Im so thankful that you are doing one about acne. I have moderate acne with scarring so your upcoming cheat sheet will be a real treat! :D
ReplyDeleteI would love a "top 5" cheat sheet. Your top 5 products for day creams/ night balms/serums/ cleansers/ masks etc etc...I know these will change all the time and it might be an impossible task but it seems people (including myself) are overwhelmed by all the products that are available. For example, I've been looking at a Decleor night balm, but then seen you recommend in the clinic that Decleor is best saved for daytime use. Confused much? Anyway, my two penneth worth. Ta. X
ReplyDeleteMaybe a cheat sheet for causes and cures of redness? Eg. whether its broken capillaries or inflammation?
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you've done one (I will look in a minute when I've written this...) but a body care one would be good. Back-ne, the famous upper arm bumps, stretch marks, cellulite...and just general good practice for body care.
ReplyDeleteThat would be excellent. As are you. xxx
Hi Caroline,
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing the cheat sheets I love them! How about a cheat sheet for different age groups? I know people of all ages can have specific concerns but maybe a cheat sheet for the general things we should be doing/looking out for at each age?
Hope that made sense!
Rachel
Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhen you create the pregnancy/breastfeeding cheat sheet could you include any advice for changes to the skin and hair, especially how to deal with them post-pregnancy? eg, how to deal with skin discoloration/hyperpigmentation/"pregnancy veil" that can happen during pregnancy, how to deal with changes to hair and skin that happen a few months postpartum, etc?
I would be intersted in said acne cheat sheet, so am looking foreward to that:-), would love to see a suppliments cheat sheet, plus a anti ageing cheat sheet, plus maybe a top 10 of your most recommended cleansers, toners moisturisers etc, to go with skin concerns so we can have a quick glance at what to use should our skin go haywire, with out bothering you in the Thursday clinic.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for having an interest in my main concern at this time (is that english??;-)) I go online to educate myself whether I can or not use this or that product when breast-feeding, but they always say, they don't have real studies etc...Maybe, like someone else suggested, please educating us about ingredients could be also very helpful. Myself, even though I love make up and cream, I don't always know what is good or bad for my skin, my age, or my condition of the moment etc...Thanks you so much!
ReplyDeleteOne more questions: What is Hormonal Acne?? They say when you have acne along your jaws, it's hormonal acne? How do you get rid of hormonal acne?
Virginie.
All of these ideas sound great and I can't wait! Recognising silicones in beauty products as well as why they aren't good would really help. I keep reading some of your comments at clinics saying that some products are "too heavy on silicones" but don't fully get it... Thankyou!
ReplyDeleteI love that you're doing a cheat sheet for PCOS - it affects my sister and she had damn near model skin until her mid-twenties. I'll be sending her this way :) And I know this isn't Thursday Clinic, but I'm going to ask anyway since I'm not after any details yet. Do "staph carriers" need to take any special measures with their skin care routine, or just do the normal treatments for their skin type?
ReplyDeleteKnow you've spoken about it before, but would love to know any tips or key products for going on holiday for someone with acne prone skin e.g best suncream as a lot normally break me out! x
ReplyDeleteCheat sheet for travelling, pretty please! I always hate how I get spots after being in a long haul flight!
ReplyDeleteHow about one on on lightening/removing sun spots? [I have a couple that bother me and I've tried hydroquinone (2%) but it did not work for me, so I'm looking for alternatives.]
ReplyDeleteOne on rosacia or just combo red skin would be fab? Xoxo
ReplyDeleteI think a cheat sheet for moisturising would be really useful, the one thing that really baffles me! which moisturiser you recommend for which skin type etc..
ReplyDelete:)
Can you please do a "top high end & on a budget" products? I don't mind spending money for the right product. But sometimes, I just don't have the money to buy them, especially with a student budget. So while I'm saving up for the big guns, can you provide a cheat sheet for quality products for the penny pincher?
ReplyDeleteLots of love ♥
Carla
I love these cheat sheets! I've learnt so much.
ReplyDeleteHow about one for suncare - so many sunscreens seem to disagree with people, for face and body with a high protection (30+)
Also - for people currently on or post - Roaccutane. Which products/brands and what ingredients to avoid.
:D
sensitive or sensitized skin...?
ReplyDeleteHello again!
ReplyDeleteI want to request a paragraph(within a cheat sheet) on the skins P.H please, what upsets it/the effects of this/ how to re-balance.
I noticed you had mentioned P.H in relation to high street acne face washes and the affect on acne causing bacteria and I would like to understand this whole P.H malarky properly.
Thank you Caroline.
Helen xx
Skin care on a budget. I know the quality will not be as good as the higher priced products but best possible quality and widely available products at affordable prices, please and thanks.
