I'm off to L.A. next week and although I'm working pretty much solidly, I will have at least one day off and so instead of wandering aimlessly in Target/Ulta/Sephora (blood pressure is rising as I type) etc, I wanted to ask if you had any particular brands that you would like me to check out while I'm there. I have a few in mind, but I'm willing to take one for the team (HAHAHAHA) and shop beauty like a demon in the limited time off that I have. I know that a lot of you are based in the US, and I am sometimes asked about brands that we just do not have access to over here, so will definitely be on the lookout for those.

Please do leave me some ideas/requests in the comments. I have a large baggage allowance and am not afraid to use it.

And also....food recommendations please! Otherwise I'll set up shop in Tender Greens and never leave.

So I finally got my act together and finished editing the LA vlog. You'll get to see everything from the Gen Beauty event to my puffy, swollen red allergic reaction face. Sorry!

Well that went well... the L.A. Diaries Part One

The first brew in LA. Home made - obvs.

So I've been back from my L.A. trip for three days and am still in a jetlag haze. It's worse than when I travelled to the Far East. Ugh. 

Anyway....onwards and upwards. To say I carried back a lot of product is an understatement, my luggage weighed over 100kg. I couldn't quite believe it myself and looked rather sheepishly at the check-in lady when she said in the nicest, non-judgemental Cali accent 'Wow. You've been busy! You must be strong! Hey fellas, can you give me a hand with this lady's bags?' 

Oh the shame. Dear reader the shame. 

Our only Target time. Had I known we wouldn't get time to go back, I'd have done more damage.

Just as well I only managed one trip to Target eh? *covers eyes* 

I have a ton of posts to write, plus a week's worth of vlogging to edit. It'll be up asap but based on my current sleep/coma/wide awake at 4am schedule, I'm not putting any times on anything - they'll be ready when they're ready!

Red, swollen, itchy, puffy, sandpaper face. All good now though...

Apologies for the lack of posts this last week - I had every plan to keep up the daily blogging (If any of you noticed I had, until last week, blogged every day this year, a miracle for me!) and then last Saturday I had a horrible allergic reaction - source sadly still unknown* - and literally took to my bed dosed up on antihistamines. When I say 'dosed', I mean 'doped'. Hello Benadryl!
That was Saturday/Sunday, I flew out Monday, landed Tuesday and have been in said sleep/coma/wide awake situation since.

So thank you for your patience, regular service will resume imminently - as will a shedload of YouTube action. First I just have to be able to remain awake for more than 3 hours at a time.




*I'm all good now thank you - and yes I am dealing with the worsening allergy situation.

The first Ulta body/hair smash'n'grab

So just a quick one for today as I'm silly busy in LA but want to keep daily postings going (YAY ME!). ;)

We popped into an Ulta briefly - I'll hit it properly before I come home - and I did what I always do and grabbed all the Pacifica I could get my hands on. Yes, you can get it in the UK but it's not everywhere, they don't always have enough stock and it's twice the price. I haven't used the Hand & Body Lotion Wipes before so thought I'd give them a go as we're coming into warmer weather (at least I hope we are) and fancy having them to play with.

Tahitian Gardenia is my first choice and the Indian Coconut Nectar, Ruby Guava and Vanilla are all on my must-grab list, so I'll get those before I head home.

The Shea Moisture products were affordable and so I thought I'd give them a whirl also - the scent is Tahitian Noni & Monoi with cherry and pink grapefruit. Yes please.

Then the Big Sexy Hair large size was on a 2 for 1. Literally BOGOF so I pounced. Sulfate-free Volumising Conditioner that is really light and really lovely.

Not bad going for a ten minute lunch grab. ;)

L.A. - brace yourself

So I'm off to L.A. on Monday. I'll be at Generation Beauty with Pixi Beauty next weekend - the 30th and 31st. If you plan on going and see me there - please do say hello! I'll post specific stand and meet-up details next week closer to the time.

I have the usual list including Fred Segal etc - but would love to hear your tips. I have an empty suitcase ready to go.
