Yesterday I had possibly the best personal intro to a new range since I started the blog. Over lunch, with gorgeous company - *waves* - I was taken through the new Michael Kors Beauty range.
Those of you that know me IRL will understand my love for The Kors. I don't generally go in for the whole designer 'thing'. Oh but I love Michael Kors. Love him. If he was a singer he'd be SLB*. If he was a guitarist he'd be Jimmy Page. You see my point...
He's larger than life, throw-it-all-out-there and doesn't take himself too seriously. And this collection is a reflection of him. It's fun, glamorous, sexy and gorgeous all in one.

Predictably my favourites from the Collection are the bronzing powders (£34). Huge, gorgeous pigment - no glitter.

#Glam - Beam - The deepest golden bronze.

#Sporty - Glow - barely any shimmer - traditional bronzer - if you use NARS Laguna? This one is for you.

Lip Lacquers £23.00

Lip Luster £21.00
Six shades of Nail Lacquer - £15.00 each.
And as if that wasn't enough...guess who he's used for the ad campaign?
And he's a Leo.

Michael Kors Beauty is available in Macy's in the US and launches in selected House of Fraser stores in the UK on 18th September. It's beautiful. Go get yours.
Next week: the Fragrance and Body Collection
*Simon Le Bon - obvs.

This is hard to pass up - I love him too! Must say I never got SLB but that's fine bc that means you won't fight me for John Taylor ;)
ReplyDeleteTom Ford, Marc jacobs, now this... its becoming difficult to disintguish between these offerings, which seem like clones of each other. Just look at the bronzers of these three new(ish) brands - same concept.
ReplyDeleteAre they backed by the same company?
Not sure about Marc Jacobs, but I am pretty sure that Tom Ford and Michael Kors are both with Estée Lauder.
DeleteTom Ford and Kors are licensed to Lauder. I have to disagree - this is completely different to Marc Jacobs and very much in his MK style.
Deletenext up: Tory Burch makeup line (also from Lauder). While competition and innovation are definitely a *good thing*, I just hope we're not getting the same products repackaged again and again.
DeleteWhoop! Girls on Film. Did a little yelp when it started playing. Gotta love Duran Duran. By the way, I am buying all three of those bronzers - gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteMy heart has just skipped a beat! Wow, I am literally so excited for this launch. I love Michael kors! Thank you for this post, am now making a list of everything I want...that would be most of it then!

This looks lovely. I need to check it out. Thankfully, it is something that Canada got at the same time as the rest of the world! Merci, La Baie d'Hudson !
ReplyDeleteAnd now I have Duran Duran stuck in my head ...
And now the kids have asked me to download "Girls on Film" ...
Deleteoooh amazing post :) thank you. And that line is just DROP DEAD GORGEOUS <3

Love Michael Kors. His original fragrance is my forever perfume!
ReplyDeleteLove the packaging, great design you can take the wording away and knows it MK. Brilliant collection can't wait to get my hands on it.
ReplyDeleteOooh Simon Le Bon ! Reminds of the 80's, Twilight Teaser Lipstick, Boots 17, Iron Lady... Miss Selridge. On second thoughts, I will check out the fabulous Mr Kors makeup collection. xxx
ReplyDeleteYou have the BEST job Caroline!, :)
ReplyDeleteJust wondering if anyone has used differin gel with hydraluron?? My skin is responding well to differin but it is dehydrated. I was thinkin hydraluron in the day under a moisturiser and differin at night under a moisturiser?
ReplyDeletePlease advise wot u think would be best Caroline
Thanks
I like the packaging but prefer to avoid MK because so many of his designs seem to be a direct copy of other companies/designers. For example, one of his tote bags is similar to Prada but less elegant.
ReplyDeleteOh that packaging is just GORGEOUS and the colours are so lush! Beautiful line. Thanks for the preview.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to thank you for your Peptabright review. I'm 46 and my skin is very light/cool and though I stopped tanning around the age of 21, I have some pigment damage and a few dark spots on my cheeks and decollete. Damage that decided to surface when I turned 40. Oh thanks so much skin!! But the peptabright is amazing!! I've only been using it for 2 weeks but the discolouration is nearly gone. I'm hoping the spots will clear up soon. It's also making headway on some acne scars. LOVE IT. Thank you!!
Oh how I wish I could get my hands on the pepta-bright! I'm in Australia and its not stocked where the other indeed lab products are :( and I've looked on their website and they don't have it on there either. I also have pesky age/ sun spots that truly make the skin look older than wrinkles do in my opinion. I keep dreaming of pepta-bright , strange how different availability is all round the world.
DeleteYes it is strange. But as you have other indeed lab products, hopefully you'll get pepta soon! Given how good it is and with pros like Ms. Hirons promoting it, they'd be nuts not to stock it. Maybe try Philosphy Miracle Dark Spot Corrector in the mean time? Ruth Crilly (A Model Recommends) gave it a great review. Cheers!
DeleteI totally get SLB :)
ReplyDeleteThis collection looks really awsome, I want all the products in Glam and Sexy and the bronser in Sporty as well.
Thanks for a fun, personal and well informed presentation, Caroline! You rock!
I post as anonymous, sorry for that.
Helene from Sweden who really hopes this line will be available here or that it will ship here from the online stores.
Caroline please could you make some product recommendations?
ReplyDeleteLike other cleansers I could use...? And other moisturisers...?
And cleansing oils.....? Thanks you
<3
Ms Hirons, you really are wonderful... can I ask you a question on behalf of my 57 year old mum? You'd like her, lifelong advocate of a clean flannel to wash your face with every day, had me cleansing and moisturising the second puberty struck, and called me a slut whenever I slept in my make-up. Needless to say, she has a good routine and generally very good skin for her age. She has some sensitivity and is prone to dry patches BUT what REALLY upsets her is a few dark age spots that have appeared on her right cheek (drivers side!) What would you recommend as the best thing to combat age spots? I'm sure I've written this in totally the wrong place but would appreciate your help nonetheless!
ReplyDeleteThank you, you are awesome
Kat xx
Caroline i just wanted to write you this to thank you for writing your blog and helping girls out there with skin problems... and i also want to thank you for actually inspiring and motivating me to study for my esthetics exam and getting my license reinstated. Hopefully later in the near future I will be able to meet you and one of your events. ( come to the states!!) Thank you again and keep up the amazing work!!!
ReplyDeletethank you thank you =)

Hi Caroline, just wondering if you have any thoughts on Neal's Yard Beauty Sleep Concentrate.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
Love, want, love, want...Sorry can't say more than that!!
ReplyDeleteHi Caroline. Wasn't sure where to leave this comment but.... I wanted to know if using vitamin e oil on the eye area is ok. Some one recommended it to me to help treat an allergic reaction to an eye cream I had. I can never find an eye cream I seem to be allergic to them all. I am worried that with continued use it will cause milia or the skin will age and get wrinkles from not using an eye cream. Its an paraben free pure vitamin e oil 32000 I.u if that helps.
ReplyDeletethankyou

The nail polishes are gorgeous!

WHat are your thoughts on the PMD, the personal at home microdermabrasion??? Or should I just stick to the chemical lotions like P50 and liquid gold. I have uneven skin tone from old pimple scaring.
ReplyDeleteThe colours in sexy gorgeous for autumn :p can't wait! xx Emmi

Wow! The packaging in the UK is soooo much prettier than in the US. This collection was launched in glossy black packaging here in the good ole US of A. And it didn't seam to be launched in the same kind of grouping. I have not bought it myself yet, however American beauty gurus are giving it a big thumbs up thus far.
ReplyDeleteI think you're thinking of Marc Jacobs! :)
