Where to start? I've never met a Tata product I didn't like. So good is the choice, that the hardest part for this type of review is singling out individual products.
So as not to go completely overboard, I am limiting myself to one cleanser (OHGODHELPME), and excluding the Rejuvenating Serum that I wrote about last month here, for no other reason than it's in the Hall of Fame, it was in my Cult Beauty Box, it's an obvious choice. So let's assume that's a given.
All products and further information are available from TataHarper.com but they don't ship everywhere so there are also local links below.
The Can't Live Without:
OK this has a back story. I mentioned on Twitter a few weeks ago that I was thrilled to find an amazing product that was going into the Hall of Fame the next day, and then it didn't happen. In a nutshell, the juice in this product is phenomenal. The packaging, however, is not appropriate for it. The formula is slightly too 'firm' to be in a tube. I squeezed it so hard that I split the seal on the tube. This needs to be in a pot, or the formula adjusted to lessen the viscosity. But that of course is a concern, because if they mess with it, it may not be the same, and that would be a great shame, as this is a beautiful eye product. The team at Tata are working on a solution.
That aside, it has not stopped me using it. I don't use it as a mask. I apply it on the under-eye area only, and I do not remove it. It softens the skin and plumps out wrinkles almost immediately. It is easily the nicest thing I have used on my eyes in a long time. I will absolutely not be without this when I fly at the end of the month. If I have to, I will take scissors to it, and decant it all into a Muji pot. No problem. If you have a Tata stockist near you, visit them and put some of this on your eyes. It's just WOAH. And it was a lovely surprise. I would never have thought that an eye mask would be so good, but there we are.
The Boosted Contouring Eye Mask is £115.00 for 30ml from BeingContent.com or $150.00 from TataHarper.com - but you may want to check yours before you buy or keep an eye out for different packaging in the future. *wields scissors*
Purifying Cleanser is the one I went for in the end. It's one of my first choices for morning cleanse, or the perfect second cleanse in the evening after a particularly 'grimy' day. It's refreshing, feels like a runny clay and wakes up your skin and your mind. More info here. I would avoid this if you're using retin-a creams - I mean prescription strength, not over the counter. They're fine.
Purifying Cleanser is £45.00 from CultBeauty.co.uk or $58.00 from Sephora.com
Replenishing Nutrient Complex starts from £36.00 from CultBeauty.co.uk and $45.00 from Sephora.com
Hydrating Floral Essence is another no-brainer. Probably, pro-rata, the product I have used the most since discovering this brand. I use it at the spritz stage, so if you are watching your budget, this is one you can pass over for something more affordable such as Serozinc. If however, you have addiction problems when it comes to all things spritz, this is great. It's a mix of aloe vera, sodium hyaluronate, rosewater and gotu kola and gives a light mist as opposed to drenching your face like the shower. Beautiful.
Hydrating Floral Essence starts at £50.00 from CultBeauty.co.uk and $65.00 from Sephora.com
I know I know - another eye cream. But I have used this on and of for years and I love it. Light, penetrates, soothes lines and puffiness and is just generally a really good eye cream. Zero irritation. Lovely.
Restorative Eye Cream is £60.00 for 15ml from CultBeauty.co.uk and $90.00 from Sephora.com
I love and use both of Tata's moisturisers, but this one pipped the Repairative Moisturiser due to its ability to hydrate really well, absorb perfectly and act as the perfect barrier on top of all the other loveliness underneath. Made for combination/oily/dehydrated skins, but I would happily recommend this and the Replenishing Nutrient Complex to someone with dry skin.
Rebuilding Moisturiser is £80.00 for 50ml from CultBeauty.co.uk and $100.00 from Sephora.com
That's the Top Six. Honestly, I could easily pick 5 more. But it's January and I'm showing restraint. ;)
Safe to say, if you are ever at a Tata counter, and can't decide whether to buy it or not, proceed.

I just tried a sample of Tata's Resurfacing Mask on a sick day and was amazed. I've been absolutely stalking her line at Sephora, but am suffering from post-holiday-shopping budgeting. Perhaps for my birthday in a month-ish.
ReplyDeleteCaroline, I've been devouring your blog lately and love that you get that shea butter makes me break out and that hydrating mists are the best. I've returned to balm/cream cleansers from the foaming dark side because of you, added some acid toning, and my skin is loving it. Thanks.
Please do not ever tell my mother that I spent $75 on a Tata cleanser. And I am an adult. :: red face ::
ReplyDeleteI don't ever want anyone to know what I've spent on skincare. They'd flip their lids! (And I am an adult too :)
DeleteYou've got that right!!!
DeleteI should add that I'm another Kate. First Kate wasn't replying to her own comment.
DeleteYeah my mum is never to see what I've Shenton skincare, n I've not even tried Tata Harper yet. Working my way upto it
DeleteHi Caroline. How would u use the replenishing nutrient complex? At serum stage?? Morning or evening?? Tanx, Carmel
ReplyDeleteI'm not Caroline, but I previously read her guidance to use it as a final layer on top of everything else, especially at night. I take the roller ball with me on flights (or used to before May Lindstrom Blue Cocoon came in my CH Cult Beauty box and changed my life forever).
DeleteSephora has a couple value sets from Tata Harper, if someone is looking to try the line without breaking the bank. I bought the the Daily Essentials Kit ($68) a while ago, with a few from this list and some others. I especially like the teeny rollerball of the Nutrient Complex because it is so easy to travel with. I don't worry about an expensive oil exploding all over my bag. The only thing my skin didn't seem to get along with was the Repairative Moisturizer, but something like that happens to anyone.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely brand. Thanks for introducing it to us.
Every single Tata Harper product gives me horrible cystic acne.
ReplyDeleteI thought that magical serum would be different, since everyone and their mother seemed to sing its praises on the internet.
But, sadly, no difference.
Pity, because I really wanted to love this brand.
Me too! Always thought i am the one with the really wired skin as everybody raves about it. But you are not alone.😉
DeleteMy goodness - that's exactly what happened to me! Had to end up seeing a doctor and now I have scars
DeleteHi Caroline. I did post this on Instagram but thought I'd post here too as I don't know where is easier for you to reply!
ReplyDeleteLove the blog - you've completely changed my skin for the better over the last 2 years! Thank you.
But ... another problem... I'm 32 years old, knackered teacher with major crepey under eyes. Same as dear old mothers! I know they are there for life, but is there anything I can put on them skincare wise, to lessen the blow?! I don't care how much it costs! Dr Dennis Gross? Tata? Radical? Kate Somerville?! All of the above?!
Thanks so much xx
A multi layering approach may help - an eye serum / gel type product followed by a richer cream on top- just don't apply too much as that can cause bagging. One cream that I know is great for crepey eyes is Natura Bisse diamond eye. Pricey but works. Get a sample first.
DeleteThanks for the reply. I'll look up Natura Bisse. And thanks for the layer tips. Anything is worth a shot!
DeleteHope it works for you. I'm currently using an "anti ageing" eye serum / gel ( skinceuticals aox gel) - allow to sink in then topped off with a rich eye / face cream in small amount patted in. Works for me. And tho its mineral oil based a v small amount of creme de la mer patted under eye can work wonders on dry lines
DeleteOh and good nutrition / vitamins / plenty of omega oils to nourish skin from within :-)
DeleteIve have all the Tata Harper Cleansers (yes-obsessed) but my favourite is the Refreshing. I love the light cream and the scent is just so fresh I wish I could sniff it all day lols.
ReplyDeleteThe Beauty Bloss
Hello from Australia! Thank you so much for introducing me to Tata Harper. The products are fantastic, all of them! My skin has never looked healthier so thank be to you Caroline and your fabulous blog!!
ReplyDeleteHello Caroline from Australia! Thank you for directing my attention to the wonder that is Tata Harper! My skin has never looked healthier! Thanks be to you and your fabulous blog, it's my absolute favourite :)
ReplyDeleteHi Caroline, my first comment here but I visit every day and love the blog and your witty advice...
ReplyDeleteThis post was timely as I was about to purchase the Purifying Cleanser but am indeed using a prescription retinol. Can I ask why they contraindicate and if this still applies if your skin is v oily and coping well with the retinol?
What would you recommend as a similar option? Any recommendations anyone has for v oily skin with blackheads and under skin bumps would really be appreciated as I am off on a Paris skincare haul for my upcoming 40th (cries).
If you have sensitive skin you should be careful with tata. Bought a lot of her products and reacted badly to all of them. Lady in content beauty in london said that this is no surprise because it is highly active with loads of troubling ingredients, of course organic though. Please take this in account as i bought it after all your high praises for it. Love your side though!

ReplyDeleteExplaination please...why do you suggest avoiding the Purifying cleanser if using prescription Retin A? Reason is...I do...my face has not fallen off...yet...
ReplyDeleteThe Purifying Cleanser reminds me of Kate Somerville EfoliKate, but without the sloughing grit. Lots of cinnamon and clove, which can be irritating if skin is at all sensitive or delicate. Just a FYI for anyone interested.
ReplyDeleteI am loving these "best of brand" posts!! Do Darphin too, please. I've never met a Darphin product I didn't like....
ReplyDeleteLoves me Tata, I do! I have all the cleansers and rotate thru them quite happily. Hello, my name is ______ and I'm a Tata-holic. Thank you, thank you, thank you for introducing me to this range of products. I have yet to try the eye creams/masks or rebuilding moisturizer. I'm currently using the Reparative, but may switch in the warmer months.
ReplyDeleteI love all things Tata Harper! I use most of her line and my skin thanks me for it. I recently discovered her hand cream. It is a miracle worker. My hand get so dry they would crack and bleed. Since using this...soft and supple skin. And, the lovely herbal fragrance just keeps me coming back for more.
ReplyDeleteThank you for another lovely post.
Hi Caroline, thank you so much for your very informative blog. I have learnt so much from you. I really do need to up my game in terms of skincare, apply the stuff instead of just reading about it, this year. However it is a case of where do I start! What is really necessary and what isn't! Which are great products, which will suit my skin, which are worth spending extra and which are not! I have read and still do read your cheat sheets, they are great thanks so much for them. However you have mentioned in your last couple of posts your Hall Of Fame! I am unable to find this on your website - it is probably me, sorry - I wonder if you can point me in the right direction to find this because it sounds like it will be just perfect to help me filter the great from the truly great products........and just wondering, is it possible to book a consultation with you? Anna
ReplyDeleteAnna - all down the far right hand side of the blog page is a huge alphabetical list, scroll down to "H" and you will find Hall of Fame, right click on it to open in a new tab and you can then book mark it, sorry do not know how to do it on a phone. HTH x
DeleteThank you so much for this post! I'd love to try someting but at the moment they are too expensive for my pockets :,(
ReplyDeleteI love this idea of a best of for different brands. keep 'em coming :-)
ReplyDeleteAttention Tata fans-you can score a free 15 ml Tata Brightening Serum (worth $110-) right now at Bergdorf Goodman online if you spend $100- on Tata products.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this post. I've wanted to try Tata Harper ever since you first mentioned it but had no idea what to try first. The eye creams sounds amazing and perfect for my mum. Will definitely recommend them to her now they have your stamp of approval. Thanks Caroline!
ReplyDeleteSpot on with this one Hirons!
ReplyDeleteHi Caroline,
ReplyDeleteI was looking for cleansers to use while pregnant and found your blog. May I ask you a question? Are the Tata Harper Purifying Cleanser and Ren Evercalm Cleansing Milk safe to use during pregnancy? Many thanks
