Any brand would love to know how to have as successful a product as Effaclar Duo - the way the product has sprung into the every day chat of beauty people on social media/blogs and in my skin consults is nothing short of extraordinary.
Well, not being fools, La Roche Posay are extending the range to include a brand new kit, designed specifically for problematic skins. The kit contains the current cleanser and Effaclar moisturiser/treatment plus a brand new Clarifying Toner brought in from the Asian arm of the LRP business *hyperventilates* as a new step in the range. The Clarifying Toner contains salicylic and lactic acid as well as two types of zinc (think Serozinc) in a glycerin base. Marvellous. The only catch is that the toner is not available on its own - YET.
I have two kits that I am giving to my (willing participants) testers to be used exclusively for 6 weeks and will report back on their findings during the trial. (Just to be clear - I already have two willing testers. This is not a giveaway opportunity!)
In the meantime the Effaclar 3-Step Anti-Blemish System launches in September via Boots and is priced £29.50.
The wait list opens in two weeks. Brace yourselves for the stampede.

ReplyDeleteJust when I didn't think I could possibly need any more skincare along pops up La Roche-Posay. I adore this brand and indeed the Effaclar range, particularly Duo + so I will definitely be looking to pick up this system in the future.

That toner sounds right up my alley and hopefully it's more widely available than Serozinc! Without the intent of being rude, can I ask why you're doing a giveaway on a product you've previously not recommended/discouraged people from using in Clinics?

To be clear - I'm not doing a giveaway - I'm using two volunteers to trial the products for 6 weeks and feeding back with their results. And I've never discouraged people from using Effaclar Duo - I've always said just don't use it all over your face if you only have spots/acne on your chin for example. :)

I tried the effaclar duo anti blemish treatment/moisturiser on my sore under the skin spots -which i've been told is acne :-( - and it didn't make any difference. :-( didnt have acne as a teenager!

ReplyDeleteThis set has been available in the US for a while and its $29.99 USD , thats £17.56 GBP. Ive noticed Perricone MD and a few other brands do its. They simply change symbol and dont convert. WHY?!??!!!!
Think if this is the case I will pick one up from the states when I visit next year too, I'd imagine I will have ran out by next summer, do you know the stockists?
DeleteI bought mine at ULTA and ive seen it at Walgreens. The set was the same amount as the Effaclar Duo on its own, and just the slightest bit smaller. So it actually makes all the sense in the world to just get the set. I felt that face wash was pretty drying though, just as a heads up.

I'd love to get my hands on it by ordering it from an online stockist/going to the store to pick it up once the stampede ends as I LOVE the acne treatment that I picked up in Europe - much better than the stuff we have in the US in my opinion.

Is it possible to have a reaction to Serozinc? I purchased and started using at the same time I started using PTR unwrinkle peel pads and had a MISERABLE and painful breakout on my chin. I am constantly broken out but was using p50 (without change in my skin) and didn't suffer like this. Wondering if I could be intolerant to the glyolic or the serozinc? Anyway- cut both out until I clear up :(
ReplyDeleteI love the effaclar duo, it has helped my skin massively but I have always been put off by the cleanser as it is a foaming cleanser, and being an avid reader of your blog, I always steer clear of foaming cleansers.

Its my understanding that the products from this line do not have the same ingredients in the usa version as the european versions. Can anyone elaborate on this?
ReplyDeleteI believe this kit is currently offered in the US. However, I'm wondering if this is an updated version? They sell the kit at a store here called Ulta. The kit is also available online. Curious to know if these are they same. I'll have to look into it as my 20 year old son suffers from terrible cystic acne & I'd like to try this for him.
