What tea do I drink? (I know I know - classic LOL'ing over here)
I drink Twinings English Breakfast. Save your recommendations lovely people. There is no better tea in life. I've had every tea on the market in my long tea-drinking life. I've never drunk coffee, but I consider myself a tea

Do you every use the loose leaf version? And do you ever question yourself (well, every time...) why you've used the loose tea instead of the bags?

ReplyDeleteHave you ever tried high tea at The Ritz? If not, get your butt down there quick smart. I'm pretty sure they serve heaven in a tea cup, and the cakes are pretty damn scrumptious. 3rd place Twinings, 2nd Place Fortnums, 1st place The Ritz
ReplyDeleteSainsbury's budget tea. The one with no frills packaging, cheap as, well cheaper than anything really. The best what I call "builder's tea" ever. My friend recommended them and now whenever I serve it up people say I make the best cup of tea. But I don't, it's the tea.
ReplyDeleteYES! I love this LOL. I've always been a Twinings fan too (earl grey and english breakfast) nor have I ever drank coffee, or would know a good cuppa from a bad one. Tea for the win! (unless it's Lipton, blech)
ReplyDeleteTwinings is sold in the states, but I'm ordering it from England tomorrow. Yours must definitely taste better. A dead giveaway is the small print on the box... ours doesn't say, "Perfect with a full English." I'm thinking, David Beckham? *eyebrow Mrs. Hirons*

I agree on the twinings thing 100% the best tea ever....but the pukka packaging, every time I see it I assume is a box of tampons it's so girly lol!
DeleteSo funny my boss swears by this tea and whenever I ask her for some tea she hands me this. She is from Guyana and a serious tea drinker, not sure where she gets the exact tea as you. The packaging is the same. I am still all about my dark roast coffee but occasionally will have a cup of tea (to warm up or soothe a sore throat mainly) and only like English Breakfast tea and also get it by way of my boss. As I still don't buy any of it. As far as Lipton is concerned I have never liked it plus I thought it was known for Iced tea not hot tea, but I really don't know tea well so, whatever. Like your post.
ReplyDeletePutting the water through a decent / alkalising filter jug makes a big difference to ANY tea whether supermarket or high end. Marks & Spencer own label do some very good earl grey for £1.50.
ReplyDeleteNow I know you're a woman for sticking to your guns but I can only assume you've tried Barry's tea from my beautiful native cork (and yes I know it's not actually grown here!), I really love my tea, all types (except fruit tea, I mean why?!) but this is the daddy. Hands down best for just a good old cuppa! Love the in the bathroom video, just watched it and tomorrow is payday uh oh!!

ReplyDeleteAbout 12 years ago Twinnings could only be had direct from England. I remember stockpiling because of the bank fees for the exchange.. their English Breakfast tea makes THE BEST iced/sweet tea! Hands down! So glad it's in virtually every supermarket in the States now!

ReplyDeleteLOL I'm a heavy coffee drinker, but I do love my cup of tea. While living in London I could never stand builder's tea. Nothing beats good old Twinings.
