I've received a lot of comments lately stating that this balm, beloved by so many of us, is being discontinued. I asked Clinique for a statement - and received this today:
'We can confirm that Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm is not being discontinued. We are extremely sorry for any confusion caused at counter.
Due to the overwhelming increase in demand of the Balm,
we are constantly working to increase supply to fulfill orders.
We have over 3,000 units of the Balm due into our
warehouse at the end of April, and stock should begin to hit the majority of
stores w/c 12th May.'
Hallelujah! Also: anyone who says blogs don't sell product is CRA-ZEE.
Brilliant! :) xxx
ReplyDeletewow, the power of the blog! Thanks for putting all the rumours to bed.
ReplyDeleteOh thank god! Now they just have to get it on the nordic marked, so annoying having to order it online! I mean, we get Clinique here in Iceland but not this product, ughh, so annoying!!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! :) xxx
ReplyDeleteYay for Clinique! Double yay for Mrs Hirons!
ReplyDeleteAlso, what in-flight routine/products would you recommend for a skint student in her early 20s who spends all her money on skincare and 2-3 hours flights? I know you recommended a lot of products for longer flights, but is it necessary for short, albeit frequent, flights? (normal-ish skin)
Thank you for the awesomeness! xx
Hello! Quick question, the Clinique balm is my first cleanse, but a good second cleanse? I have acne/spot prone skin with a lot of redness and on the oily/unbalanced side. Thanks! (Loooove the blog)
ReplyDeleteI use the balm twice. It works really well :)
DeleteI'm not Caroline, but it sounds like I have very similar skin to you and I started using Caroline's recommendation of Anthony Logistics Glycolic Facial cleanser (it's for men but what's the difference other than it's cheaper?). I get much fewer spots now and my redness around my nose is slowly clearing!
DeleteI'm not Caroline but my skin sounds very similar and I followed her recommendation of Anthony Logistics Glycolic facial cleanser and my skin has definitely improved!
DeleteHello, I use the Ren clear calm clay cleanser after this balm, it feels and smells really nice, makes me feel very clean
DeleteIt's a great cleanser and is regularly out of stock but great value for money and good for sensitive or reactive skin like mine yay
ReplyDeleteThis is so good to hear!! Now if you could just get Clarins to bring back the comfort cleansing cream....
ReplyDeleteThank jeebus for that! I was starting to panic :)

I had no problem picking it up over the weekend at Macys.. Well.. the counter girls were less than nice, but I got the product in the end!
ReplyDeleteI bought this based on your recommendation and couldn't be happier with it. You definitely sold this girl a product!

I wish they actually even sold it in Belgium... :(
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear. I started to panic when I read the heading line of your post. Keep up the great work Mrs. H!
ReplyDeleteOch I soooo wanted to love this product, but it made my eyes so swollen!
ReplyDeleteWooohooo ! I hope they will have it in stock when I come to London the 12th of May !
ReplyDeleteThis little devil can be hard to find but I myself am on my 4th tub! (slightly obsessed).
ReplyDeleteHave also just read a poor review of this balm advising people not to buy it... MADNESS!
Everyone's skin reacts differently, so I wouldn't call it "MADNESS" if someone has a negative opinion and wouldn't recommend it.
DeleteFor those in Canada, I got mine at The Bay! Shoppers doesn't seem to carry it anywhere.
ReplyDeletePhew! I was nervous there for a moment…
ReplyDeletePhew! I was nervous for a minute…
ReplyDeleteoh good because I haven't even tried it yet!

I've been using this balm for YEARS. I will say I have had no problem finding it in the past. I read about it's recommendation here and now I have to order it straight from clinique.com to get it. It is always sold out in every department store around here (D.C.) Blogs do sell products.
ReplyDeleteI have had no trouble ordering it from Sephora.com in the US.
ReplyDeleteI ordered a tub, saw the rumors that it might be discontinued and ordered two more tubs. The site says it's still in stock.
I'm in the US and I have had no trouble getting it from sephora.com. The site seems as though it always has it in stock.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely bought Take The Day Off Cleaning Balm based on your recommendation of it on your blog. I'm on my second jar and I love it. When I read the first sentence of this post my heart literally started to beat a little faster as I thought you were announcing it was being discontinued. I live in northern California and have had no trouble finding it so far. I have not been so lucky getting my hands on Hydraluron- another product that I want to try based on your blog. I read that Walgreens was suppose to start selling it here in early April, but I've called every Walgreens in my area and they don't know what I'm talking about. Thanks Caroline P.S. If you ever come to San Francisco be sure to post about where you will be.
ReplyDeleteThank god! Panic over!
ReplyDeleteThank God! Panic over
ReplyDeleteAnother one here coming down from a minor panic! The snippet on Bloglovin' didn't sound good. Was even coming up with a plan of attack to stock up in the few seconds it took the page to load.
ReplyDeleteHa, love that last comment! I purchased this because I saw it on your blog :)
ReplyDeleteonefiftyfour
Yay, just bought myself a pot from Boots!
ReplyDeleteIf anyone from Clinique is reading this blog (which you should of course...) - could you please tell us why this lovely balm does not retail is all countries in Europe, e.g. The Netherlands? And while I'm at it - why, oh why did you lower the SPF on the Superdefence 25 (now 20)?
ReplyDeleteO!M!G!!! I nearly had a heart attack when I started reading this post! Was about to run out and stock up!! Phew!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat product but why don't they sell it in airports? Certainly the last couple I've tried, in various countries, they haven't stocked it. :-(
ReplyDeleteI do find counters don't often let their staff know what's going on with the product!
ReplyDeleteI reviewed the Clinique Balm on my blog today:
emmazingbeauty.blogspot.com
Oh my gosh, I nearly died when I saw the title of this pop up in my bloglovin' feed. Thank goodness it is staying, although I do have three pots in backup just in case...

Agreed!
DeleteI need a recommendation for moisturizer for oily skin currently using Lush Vanishing Cream, don't love it really. I use liz earle cleanse and polish hot cloth cleanser and the toner from liz earle collection. After watching your body talk I am defintely adding a exfoliating cleanser.
ReplyDeleteThank god it is staying!! I love this product!!
ReplyDeleteGave me such a scare!! I LOVE this product!!
ReplyDeleteYeah I used to work for Clinique and I noticed all of last year when I was recommending it to my clients it started selling out really quickly. I converted other consultants so the 6 pots we got delivered each week soon weren't enough! That was in the 2nd busiest counter in Scotland - crazy! Then when it was featured in mags last summer it rarely arrived in delivery! Other counters were even advising clients that it was being discontinued..... once that starts, it spreads like wildfire. I don't work for Clinique anymore, but its definitely one product I'd pay full price for. Lasts me months. The Ren purity balm is nice too, but I prefer a pot for balms as apposed to tubes.
ReplyDeleteREN have brought the tub version of the balm back! :)
DeleteOh thank goodness! I love this balm - couldn't get it again when my last tub ran out, so I got the REN balm instead. They are both lovely so at least I have a couple of options now. The REN one only has one downside, which is that it stings my eyes. Other than that, love both.
ReplyDeleteHalleluja!
ReplyDeleteI'm really glad! TBS Camomile balm is not doing it for me as this one, and the one you keep recommending (I forgot the name), is a bit out of my budget. So yay Clinique!!
Hi Caroline!
ReplyDeleteI know it's totally off topic to ask this question on this post, but what do you think of what this post says about the cetaphil cleanser? It says that all of the ingredients can actually lead to cancer. I would like to know what you think of that.
Thank you!
I hadn't heard that it was going away, so thankfully I avoided the panic! I have been using this for a year and will not remove makeup with anything else. It's amazing. Though I do want to try the REN Balm! :)
ReplyDeleteDear Caroline,
ReplyDeleteplease do a Cheat Sheet about neck care. I'm 33, but my face looks at least 10 years younger, neck not so much :-/
Thank you in advance!
Hi Caroline! I wonder how should I clean my face after gym/running outdoors? I feel, especially when training outdoors, that my skin deserves then a better clean but not sure if it's just my impression and shower followed with usual products suffice, or should i apply somethign harder?
ReplyDeletehysterical! You should be getting a cut of this... srsly... "do they know who u r?"
ReplyDeleteCetaphil for a 2nd cleanse? Ingredients: water, cetyl alcohol, propylene glycol, sodium laurl sulfate, stearl alcohol, methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben. This was recommended by my derm.
ReplyDeleteI am your mother's age. In fact, I would be your mother's twin except for the fact that she has beautiful skin and I don't. Upon finding your blog, I have changed my wicked ways and ditched the cleansing wipes. Am now using coconut oil for my one and only cleanse.
Cetaphil: Yes or No

Never mind. I found the answer on your blog. Henceforth, I will read every page of your blog before I will ask another question. ;)

Yipeee!!! I thought it would be discontinued already. Thanks for sharing this info. It made my day =)
ReplyDeleteI bought the last tub from boots manchester, skipped all the way back to work, opened it sat at mg desk to gaze loveingly at my loot... finger marks in the balm...... noooooooooooo!
