Hello lovely people! Enjoying the heat? (UK peeps!) I am.
Before you venture out into the rays you may be interested to watch this video that I filmed last week with the lovely Dr Marko Lens - THE man in the know when it comes to all things skin and melanoma.
Part two will go live on Monday evening (UK time) - in the meantime hope you enjoy!
Thank you so much for posting this interview. I felt like I was receiving an education and will refer back to this in the future.

Caroline, you look beautiful as ever :) I truly can't wait for you to start skin consulations again, so I may have a chance to meet you and with your help improve my skincare. I really could listen to you all day long, and also I think you did a great job as a interviewer :)
ReplyDeletethanks a lot Caroline! i learnt a lot - looking forward to watching the second part - which cream did you choose?
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, thank you! Cannot wait for part 2, so informative and so many nagging questions answered.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting thanks so much. However I am sticking to physical sunscreen :) you are great Caroline thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this video Caroline. Clear, informative and I love your facial expressions ;)
ReplyDeleteThis was mostly informative. Dr. Lens is very clear and (ah!) he talks Science, which is nice. I was wondering what would you think of the Institut Esthederm system?
ReplyDeleteThis was so informative. Especially about the damage already done when you have tanned. As I only use shea butter on my children and I as it already has spf in it but only up to 6 but we have all tanned. *sheds tear as I look at my tanned babies and look at the damage I've done* so I will be running off to boots later this morning to get us some sunscreen protection or maybe Monday after I've watched part 2 and see what sunscreen you've chosen and what the specialist has recommended.
ReplyDeleteit's not only the SPF that counts.. any sunscreen should offer UVA and UVB protection, another reason why plant oils can't provide efficient protection, since they usually only protect against UVB - and even then with a very low SPF like you said yourself :/
Delete(I think I didn't post the comment but deleted it so sorry if you get it a second time now)
ReplyDeleteFirstly thank you very much for the video! I'm cdonfused about the mineral oils now-are they something to generally be avoided now or just if you have acne and in sunproducts. I never get a clear answer: Are parabens and co bad for the skin or ok, maybe even beneficial? And why? I mean they are even used in apothecary products very often - I know they have very low allergic potential but is there a downside aswell? Would be quite important to know in my opinion.
Guys! You should be grateful for the weather! Spare a thought for those of us in N Ireland who haven't seen any sunshine!
ReplyDeletewho says that we aren't grateful? ;)
DeleteFacinating interview, very informative thank you to both of you for the time you invested in this.
ReplyDeleteLove the video. Sadly I only became careful with my skin after I hit 30s so I will suffer the consequences later. But I think it's never too late to change bad habits. Will show it to my husband as he's really resistant to wearing SPF. Would be nice to find one that is not too greasy on the face. X

What a helpful video..so much detail. Am looking forward to the 2nd part..thanks for making this video.
ReplyDeleteLike most other people, thank you so much for this. It has been immensely helpful. Also sending love and appreciation since most of the time you get bombarded with questions on skincare no matter what you are tweeting or instagraming instead of the relevant picture/message. THANK YOU
ReplyDeleteReally really useful and informative. Thank you both, so much.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to part 2.
SNEAKY!! you just changed it from sunday to monday! noooooo... I was looking forward to it all weekend. :-(
ReplyDeleteHi Caroline,
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to leave this in your comments about an unrelated issue (although really enjoyed the video, looking forward to part 2), but I just wanted to say a massive thank you to you. I have struggled with acne since I was a teenager (I'm now 30) which, a couple of years ago developed into cystic acne. It got to the point where I couldn't move my face without being in pain, or it leaking. As a professional, I found it highly embarrassing at work, I went to my friends wedding in February and just remember a large cyst on my cheek bursting when I got home. After weeping on the bathroom floor (I may have also been a little intoxicated...) I found your blog and have followed your advice religiously ever since. I cant tell you what a difference it has made, I haven't had a cyst in 3 months, and only get the odd hormonal blemish, it is like I have brand new skin. I am no longer on antibiotics or my isotretinoin(??) and am happy (ish) to leave the house without make up, now I just have to work on my scars.
You have changed my life and made me a much more confident person and I can't thank you enough. Keep doing what you're doing, because you're fabulous!
Love
Michelle
Hi Caroline!
ReplyDeleteYou are the best skin guru :-D and I follow your advice religiously.
I have 2 questions about P50.
1. Should I let it dry before I put on the following skin care and should I use it under my sunscreen?
2. Since it is so hard to get I don´t want to waste it, I have put it in a Muji spray bottle and spray it over my face instead of using a cotton disk. Is that OK?
Greetings from Eva in Sweden
Ok am I the only idiot that doesn't know the difference between physical & chemical sunscreens?
ReplyDeleteAm I right in thinking physical are things like a hat/umbrella etc & chemicals are sunscreens!
P.s so glad you asked the q's about babies!! Me & my partner are having a huge row about the use of sunscreen on our baby and looks like I've won :-)
Xxx
THANK YOU for clearing up the myth about physical vs chemical sunscreen. Just because you can't pronounce it, doesn't mean it's scary, people!!!!
